What All the Sound Toggles Do
The Foghorn's settings have a row of sound switches. Each one controls a specific game moment — here's the full map, including which sports each applies to.
| Toggle | When it fires | Sports |
|---|---|---|
| Good Goal | Your team scores. The main event — your team's horn. | All |
| Bad Goal | The other team scores. A short "womp" so you know without looking. | All |
| Start Song | The game begins. | All |
| Seventh-Inning Stretch | Middle of the 7th inning. | Baseball |
| Field Goal | Your team kicks a field goal (a full touchdown still gets the Good Goal horn). | Football |
| Extra Point | Your team's extra point is good. | Football |
Toggles for sports you don't follow simply never fire — a hockey fan can leave Field Goal on forever and never hear it.
Which sound actually plays
For each moment, the Foghorn picks the most specific sound it has on its SD card:
- Your custom file (like
COL-custom.mp3) if you've added one — see the Custom Audio article - Your team's own sound (like
COL.mp3) - The league's standard sound for that moment
So the toggles decide whether a moment makes noise; the SD card decides what it sounds like.
Volume
The Dashboard's volume slider (0–100) applies to everything the Foghorn plays. If everything is too quiet even at 100, the source files themselves are quiet — see the tips in the Custom Audio article for boosting file loudness.
Suggested setups
- The purist: Good Goal only. The horn means one thing.
- The full experience: everything on. Your living room is the arena.
- Apartment mode: Good Goal and Start Song on, Bad Goal off, volume ~40. Your neighbors learn your team's schedule anyway, but gently.
Changes save to the Foghorn instantly, and if you have more than one connected, the app applies your settings to all of them.
